Mesón Hidalgo is a 17th-century house in the heart of San Miguel de Allende that’s been reimagined as a three-suite guesthouse by designer Laura Kirar. Each room - Chana, Juana, and Su Hermana - is distinct, blending restored colonial architecture with contemporary design pieces, many of which are made by local artisans and available for purchase.
The property sits on Calle Hidalgo, steps from the main square and La Parroquia, making it one of the most central and walkable stays in town. Inside, guests find high ceilings, fireplaces, and handcrafted details instead of hotel uniformity. The concept merges hospitality and retail: part stay, part gallery, part atelier.
With only three rooms, service is discreet, and the focus is on privacy, design, and location. It’s ideal for travelers who care more about atmosphere and authenticity than full-service amenities.
