Located in the heart of the Yucatán Peninsula, 30 km from the city of Merida, Galopina is a harmonious blend of barefoot luxury, nature, and authentic Mexican hospitality. It is a sanctuary where time seems to slow down, inviting guests to reconnect with themselves and nature.
Galopina is situated on a 7-hectare plot of land, divided by an old path once used by horses to collect henequen. The house’s design is atypical, divided into three parts. The main house is separate, and a short walk across a bridge is necessary to reach the rooms.
Galopina offers five suites, daily cleaning service, and a fresh, generous breakfast included. Snacks and dinner service can be provided for an extra charge.
The suites are immersed in nature, offering direct views of the dense vegetation, where guests can observe birds and the blue Yucatan sky. The Galopina experience is one of disconnection and tranquility.

The landscaping has been adapted to our endemic vegetation while maintaining a relaxed and natural style. Our surroundings remain wild, as the goal was to preserve the authenticity of the Yucatecan vegetation, staying true to our style and the experience we want to offer.
At night, an orchestra of crickets sings, and above, we have the starry sky of Yucatan as our ceiling. Entering Galopina is entering a universe where design and nature merge to honor Mexico.
The interior design is cozy, emphasizing details and natural elements such as wood, candles, lamps, fibers, and plants. Each piece of furniture and plant plays a significant role in the overall design of the house. The furniture, which has been rescued and renovated, is living its second life, making it unique with its own story to tell. Made of cedar, the furniture also adds a magical touch as its scent permeates Galopina.
The architectural project was developed in collaboration with Taller TACO, whose practice is based on an analysis that considers both tangible factors like nature and the built environment, as well as intangible factors such as local culture.
Galopina’s design seamlessly integrates with the surrounding nature. A highlight of the experience is waking up to the melody of multicolored birds in the cenotes reserve, one of the most magical and mystical places in Mexico.
Galopina is located on the outskirts of the town of Acanceh, within the cenotes reserve and close to towns that offer various activities to discover the essence of Yucatan, from beekeepers and traditional Mayan cooks to mystical cenotes, haciendas, and archaeological ruins.
Due to our location, we have created an activity dedicated to the exploration of cenotes, accompanied by expert archaeologists who explain the formation and importance of these water sources in Mayan culture and history. The experience must be booked at least one week in advance.
If you're traveling to or near Merida, Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport (MID) is the most common option, located just 20 minutes from downtown. There are other regional airports in the Yucatan, but MID is by far the most common.
