A house with more than a century of life in it, renovated by Eneken Studio into something that manages to feel both completely of its moment and completely of its place. The bones are colonial Mérida — double-height ceilings, a central courtyard anchored by a towering tree that filters the afternoon light and makes the midday heat irrelevant. The 2,800 square feet around it have been filled with artisan-made furniture sourced from across the Yucatán and Mexico, each piece chosen with the kind of care that makes a room feel collected rather than decorated.
Three ensuite bedrooms, each with four-poster beds and marble soaking tubs. The primary has his-and-hers tubs — a detail that says everything about the level of attention paid throughout. Nothing here was left to default.
Outside the front door, Mérida opens up. The historic center, the markets, Paseo de Montejo, the kind of city that rewards wandering and punishes rushing. This is a house that earns its place in it — old enough to have stories, considered enough to tell them well.
