El Aguacate is the personal creation of architecture studio GOMA, a 19th-century mill brought back to life as a contemporary sanctuary on 30 hectares of quiet, open land in Querétaro. The spirit of the place remains intact: thick stone walls, old foundations, and a design that lets the landscape speak.
Inside, designer Patricia Hirschfeld softens the architecture with calm, earthy textures. Reclaimed wood, handcrafted details, and gentle lighting create a feeling of warmth, while the gold-leaf dining room adds a radiant, unexpected moment that glows against the historic stone.
The hacienda stretches across two natural terraces and offers two unforgettable pool experiences:
• a 25-meter pool perched high above the valley with endless semi-desert views,
• and a courtyard pool and jacuzzi hidden within the original ruins.
Each has its own mood — one serene and sheltered, the other wide and cinematic. Footpaths wander through the property, moving between ash and willow trees, quiet corners, and a flowing river that invites slow walks and simple connection with nature.
