Mixing carefully chosen Mexican and Mediterranean objects, Aloha Punta is a secret escape right in the heart of Punta Zicatela. Just a stone’s throw from all the town’s best laid-back bars and eateries, the 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom villa puts you right in the midst of this buzzing surf spot while enjoying all the calm of your own private retreat.

The Design

Dotted with earth-toned textiles, Aloha Punta’s Mediterranean accents create a design sensibility that sets it apart from other properties in the area. A beautiful detail is the Alhambra-style archways in the walled garden, which transport you to the villas of southern Spain while maintaining all the low-key charm of La Punta.

A highlight of the home is the upstairs terrace. With a sculptural curved couch and roomy bar area, it’s the perfect spot for a sundowner. Then, after drinks, you can hop in the Jacuzzi and take in the view of the jungle plants peaking out among the rooftops of La Punta.

The Space

Aloha Punta sleeps up to 10 people. The open-plan master suite has a king-size bed and bathtub, while the second double bedroom also has a king-size bed, ensuite, and doors out onto the terrace. Two further bedrooms have two double queen-sized beds, ensuites, and terrace access.

Downstairs, a fully equipped kitchen and breakfast bar join the large dining room. The spacious living area opens out onto the pool, where you can relax on plush day beds in the private walled garden. There’s a daily cleaning service, air conditioning, and, in case you have to work, Starlink WiFi access.

The Neighborhood

Punta Zicatela, or "La Punta,” is a small, laid-back surf town at the southern tip of Oaxaca's Pacific coast. Its main draw is the powerful surf break, which attracts serious surfers worldwide.

Punta Zicatela features a mix of unpaved roads and sandy stretches lined with cafes, yoga studios, and small shops. You can find a variety of local and international restaurants offering fresh seafood and vegetarian options, as well as laid-back bars for enjoying sunset drinks. We love the cocktail list and buzz at Punta Vida, located right on the beach.

To get to Punta Zicatela, you can fly into Puerto Escondido International Airport (PXM) and then take a 25 minute taxi. Alternatively, we can organize a shuttle. Another option is a bus from major cities in Mexico, such as Oaxaca City, which takes approximately 4 hours thanks to a new highway opened in 2024. Bear in mind that ATMs are not always dependable on the ground, so bring some cash.
